Is my pain hardware related?
« on: April 24, 2016, 08:32:14 AM »
Hopefully someone will be able to answer this one! I have been having a lot of pain at the top of my tibia .. it feels very tender when I press the top of my scar (I had a closing wedge HTO) and I'm wondering if the pain at the top of my tibia could be from the screws. Has anyone had pain like this that has gone away when they had their hardware removed? My surgery was 6.5 months ago and I wasn't expecting to still be having this much pain (daily) at this point.

Thank you!

My surgery was 5 months ago and I also have tenderness towards the top of the leg.  I think I can feel some screws or plates under there so I suspect they may be irritating the soft tissue as the pain doesn't feel 'deep' enough to be bone related, if you see what I mean?
