New to board and don't know where to post this...
« on: April 11, 2016, 06:46:27 PM »
I just created my account and am unsure where to post this........

I have been having knee issues for a long time now; cartridge damage from playing basketball and have had two surgeries. I had a microfracture done first and about two years later had to have another procedure done as the microfracture was not successful.

Second procedure was ACI- Autologous Chondrocyte Implantation; this too has not been successful.

I am curious what the next step should be, partial replacement? Injections? Stem cell is out of the question as I do not have the $20K to spend on my knee....

Thanks in advance for any and all input/ suggestions.

I recommend reading Saving My Knees http://www.amazon.com/Saving-My-Knees-Doctors-Chronic-ebook/dp/B004JHYTEI

It seems that you have already had major knee surgeries, so your case is a bit different from the author.  However I still find the message of the book to be wise.  Joints need motion to promote healing.  The book points to academic studies of cartilage regeneration as a result of motion.

good luck!
