Diagnosed with chondromalacia patella
« on: April 04, 2016, 01:06:08 PM »

I've suffered with bad knees for about ten years now, up until about 7 months ago I just got on with it as I seen it as a bearable dull pain.

But it became crippling,  I couldn't stand for any period of time, walking was a task, stairs are my worst nightmare, even sitting stationary for any period of time is painful, my knees would become stiff! My left knee slips on random occasions and my right knee would lock.

I had an xray, it showed minimal joint space lose.
A few months later a c.t scan said I had high grade chondromalacia patella in my left knee and intermediate grade in my rt knee with a small bakers cyst.

My doc told me it is common in young adults (33), but everything ive found online tell me it's associated with physical activities!!  But here's the thing, I am not and never have been physical!!  I wrote my own notes out of p.e at school, I hated all other sports, I'm lazy, just pure lazy..

I'm struggling to understand my diagnosis,  could anyone offer any help?? Tia
