How serious is this?
« on: February 27, 2016, 06:11:35 AM »
Had Injury while playing football, wherein I felt like knee twist and there was swelling the day after

MRI reports says this:

-Complete Thickness tear of ACL is seen in mid segment with retraction of torn fibres.
-Mild effusion in the joint and suprapatellar bursa
-Linear horizontal hyperintense signal intensity seen in the body and posterior horn of medial meniscus reaching upto inferior articular surface,Grade III tear of posterior horn of medial meniscus

how the treatment should be, Is a surgery required?

how early can I start playing???? :(

Hi Justin,

You might have better luck and advice on the general knee questions and comments section. This section is for members that would like to share a calendar event such a surgery date.

Link to correct section to be posting on below, Sheila the owner and founder of KG may redirect your post.

It is looking highly likely that you’re OS will end up repairing the inside of your knee with what looks like an ACL and cartilage tear? I am not an OS or radiologist! I am just presuming from what you posted?

Good luck.
