Help with interpreting MRI Report
« on: February 19, 2004, 09:13:46 PM »
Can anyone explain what this means?

1. A small joint effusion is present with mild degenerative change of the medial compartment and Grade II signal of mucinous degeneration in the posterior horn of the medial meniscus.

Degenerative change in the medial compartment applies to the articular cartilage, also called osteoarthritis in a lot of the information on the web.

Mucinous degeneration of the meniscus partains to cyst like lesions I believe.

Go to any of the search engines and put the phrases in search box and you will find a multitude of information.

Best of luck!
