Arthritic flareup - (confromis IPD fitted) knee
« on: December 04, 2015, 02:38:16 PM »
I have severe lateral osteoarthritis (grade4) on knee.
After multiple cartilage operations had a Conformis IPD fitted in 2008
In April this year after patella issue (joint locking) a further arthroscopy carried out.
Treated medial meniscal tear and debride patello femoral joint.

I had MONVISC hyaluronic acid injection 6 weeks post-op

72 Hrs ago .. with no trauma my knee has become very painful,  restricted movement, especially on rising from a seated potion.  Frequnet intense stabbing pain in centre of knee when walking.
Unable to take load lateral or if squatting etc.

Referred by Dr to physio (assumed tendon damage)  Physio advises tendons, ligaments & muscles all fine & stable .. issues is a major arthritic flare up within the joint - no treatment, but suggested considering a steroid injection.

2 questions ....
# Can steroid injection be used when Conformis IPD in place ?
# Can MONOVISC be used at same time or x-weeks after steroid injection
