ACL Surgery Advice
« on: November 10, 2015, 02:16:23 AM »
Hi Everyone,

I completely tore my ACL 9 months ago, sprained my MCL/LCL and have a partial tear of my patella tendon. My MRI took 3 months to approve then I had to wait for new insurance, then when I got to see an OS he wouldn't operate because I'm over 40 and not an athlete. I'm 48 but have a very active job plus I do yoga, dance, hike and ski. I still have a lot of edema and instability and want to return to a normal healthy lifestyle. After research I was interested in hamstring autograft but the OS said over 40 it could only be allograft. I am doing rehab but wanted any advice about surgery for over 40. Thanks.
