MCL Grade 2+ tear and ACL Sprain - 10 months on
« on: October 13, 2015, 03:53:20 PM »
I tore my MCL and sprained my ACL playing netball on January 17th (not that i'm counting...!), had MRI and found it was Grade 2 + MCL tear and Grade 1 ACL sprain.

I was on crutches for approx. 4 weeks and had very little movement. I was advised by Orthopedic Doctor that i'd be fine getting back to sport after 8 weeks in a hinged brace... here I am, 10 months later and still struggling! I have gradually got back into exercise (started stationary bike and leg strengthening exercises about 4 months ago) and am now running up to 4 miles, any further and it really starts to hurt.

I am continuing strengthening exercises (squats, lunges etc.) a few times a week too.

Any similar experiences or ideas when it will be fully recovered and when I may be able to return to netball / run further?

I am well and truly fed up  :'(
