Denovo NT Failure - Patella
« on: October 01, 2015, 08:10:43 PM »
I am 2 years post op from a Denovo graft on my patella and a MPFL repair. I did not have a TTO/AMZ, etc. My defect is large and inferior/medial. I never returned to sport, but I was doing ok. I was a model patient in terms of rehab. The last few months I have had increasing pain and inflammation and loss of function. MRI shows 50% fill of the defect with some areas of cartilage loss. I am looking to see some specialists out of state. Anyone have any words of encouragement, a similar experience, suggestions on who might be the best specialist to see? Thank you!

My experience is a little different...but I had my Denovo graft on my medial femoral condyle in August of 2013.  Things never felt great with it from the start.  I had a diagnostic arthoscopy in the summer of 2014 confirming the failure.  I'm now 8 weeks post osteochondral allograft (done at the Mayo Clinic).  I wish I had some magic words or advice for you...but I know what you are going through, and it's tough...good luck and try to stay positive.
