26 - severe patellofemoral pain
« on: September 06, 2015, 08:55:44 PM »
I've had patellofemoral pain for the last few years. No injury just happened.

I went back and forth between doctors and physics to no avail. I therefore just ignored the pain as it wasn't that bad.

However, now the pain constant and increasingly severe. They hurt all the time.

My life has become a complete misery.

Can anyone please help me - I'm desperate.

What do I do?

Try to see a knee specialist with an interest in PF issues, and find a good sports physio who can do a thorough assessment. Have you had scans and tests done to check the alignment in your knees, hips and ankles,/feet and more importantly to look at muscle balance, again from hips to feet?

Good luck, I have similar, in me, it's down to weak glutes, tight calves and poor posture
Came off bike onto concrete 9/9/09 (lat meniscus, lat condyle defect)
LK scopes 8/2/10 & 16/12/10
RK scope 5/2/15 (menisectomy, Hoffa’s fat pad trim)
LK scope 10.1.19 medial meniscectomy, trochlea MFX
LK scope 19.4.21 MFX to both condyles & trochlea, patella cartilage shaved, viscoseal, depo-medrone
