Possible partial patellar tendon tear?
« on: June 04, 2015, 05:18:30 PM »
During a hike few months ago with a heavy pack on my back, walking fast, I slipped and slammed my
Knee into the ground. Took a direct blow right below the patella. Didn't hurt at first so I continued running and working out. After continuining running for a week the pains were unbearable. Would wake up at night. I stopped working out rested iced my knee nothing helped. Now four months later I still have knee pain of 3 on a scale of 10. Don't have insurance so medical bills are kind of scary:/

After reading peoples' symptoms and diagnoses here I think I have a possible partial tendon tear maybe even cracked patella?

Also a hard bump sprouted where the tendon meets the lower leg. Thought it was bursitis but four months later I see little improvement.

Any ideas on possible diagnosis and treatment? Is putting my knee in an immobilized even a viable option now?

Thanks so much for all the help

Hello Elansbkicks,
My opinion is that only a doctor can tell you what your problem is. You should have see one some months before as your pain was quite high. I recommend that you'll see one, especially a knee specialist. Good luck
