Popliteal Tendon Tear Repair and Lcl augmentation surgery
« on: December 16, 2014, 03:28:51 AM »
Wondering if anyone has had knee surgery to stitch back together their popliteal tendon(mine was 2/3torn)?  Also I was wondering if anyone had an lcl repair with local augmentation(interstitial tear)? my os has told me that my surgery is very unusual and rare and he can't help with telling me what is normal as far as pain and rom...I am getting frustrated with my progress as it is slow going. I am 10 weeks post op and my rom is 115, my knee is really stiff and I am still having a moderate amount of pain, I was nwb for 6 weeks. I am just now trying to wean myself off of one crutch. I don't know if that is gonna happen or not. Now when I go to pt, because my knee stiffens up between pt appts, it takes nearly 15 minutes on a stationary bike just to get my knee going(115). What is a desirable rom for this kind of surgery? Maybe I just need to be a little more patient but am getting worried that my rom is stalling and scar tissue has settled in and affected my rom, my os is talking mua or arthroscopic surgery if my rom doesn't improve greatly, I see him on the 29th of December.  Any help or words of advice would be great!
