I am 59 yrs old and have been an avid hiker and road cyclist for most of my life. Currently have a bone-on-bone issue under left patella and while I can walk fine I can not bike or climb without serious pain. Docs disagree about patellofemoral replacement...some say that an Arthrosurface Wave procedure should help, others say they only reserve patellofemoral replacement for people in far worse shape than me and that it is not to be used to reclaim the type of athletic lifestyle I'm used to. So, is there anyone on this board who has had a procedure to fix severe cartilage wear under their patella who has been able to return to cycling and/or climbing? Thanks.
