Back of knee pain
« on: June 07, 2015, 10:17:06 PM »
So in January of this year, my knee started hurting me from no obvious activity but it definitely had a defining week or so where I realized I had hurt it. I suffered through the pain until I went to a doctor in May, who diagnosed a proximal gastrocnemius sprain. However, my symptoms do not entirely line up with what he said. My symptoms are as follows:
-stiff knee after sitting for 10 or more minutes--always have to take a few steps holding on to something it isvery painful!
-slight ache when keeping it still for too long
-pain when extending and bending the knee fully, although it is possible
-pain when kneeling, not too possible to kneel, I avoid it
I don't really remember having any calf pain associated with this, mostly all in my knee in the back towards the outside of the knee more.
If you all have any opinions as to what this could be, that'd be great! I'm a young, 22 year old female, fairly athletic and it's still hurting after 5 months! Thanks!
