Hello everyone! This is my first post in the forum  :)

Last month I dislocated my left knee, and had to keep it in a straight leg brace for about two weeks. After that I was told I was allowed to wear a different leg brace which lets me bend my knee. At the moment it is adjusted so that it can only bend it up to 60 degrees... but in practice, my leg won't bend even half the distance. It gets to a certain point and then gets too stiff to move. :-\

I've been wearing this brace for a week now, and I haven't noticed a big difference in terms of the amount I can bend it. I feel like it should be improving quicker than this, as a knee specialist had planned an appointment to change the limit to 90 degrees, which I will have in a week-and-a-half's time.

Another problem I am having is, although I can put my full weight on my leg when it's straight, as soon as I try to bend it my knee won't hold the weight. It's like it goes "floppy" and won't stay in position when it's bent. This hasn't improved at all since I got the new leg brace.

I have regular physiotherapy sessions, and I have told them a few times about these two problems. They just say that it's normal, and that I should do exercises 'x y and z' to strengthen my leg in general. But I would like to know if there are any exercises in particular that I can do to improve, specifically, the two problems I have mentioned.
