Cheers Vikster

I did some researsh on your info but still can not find knowlege of anyone who specialised in PFJR. one of the centres I phones they said see jonothon eldridge who you mentioned but not becuse he was a specialist but because he had the shortest waiting list. They said all the surgeons do this but i wanted someone who specialises in it.

Thanks for always taking the time out to help me out!! :)

I do think your best bet is to speak with Mr Skinner and get his recommendations. Are you an NHS or private patient of his? If the latter, contact his secretary and make an appointment. I doubt he'd discuss with you over email. You'll also need him to refer you with a letter detailing your history regardless

Have you been told that a pjfr really is your only option?

I do think finding a specialist who does loads of these is going to be hard, just because there aren't loads done it seems.

Another way to find someone with expertise or a special interest is to look for surgeons who have published in journals. Google will help you out

Another tool is the bupa consultant finder where you can see how many surgeries bupa have funded. Bear in mind it doesn't show nhs or other private insurers, or self funding

E.g. For Mr Eldridge , scroll down, he's done at least 5 under bupa for pfjr which sounds promising. (My surgeon, who only does knees, has done none as a comparison)

Thanks Vikster

If Mr Skinner will do this I will be more than happy, I have alot of trust with him and only ever hear good things about him, hes a gent to boot but not sure he will do this, but i m waiting to see him now. Hey thats a great tool to find history of specific operations. This site and kind hearted people like yourself are all we have when suffering and feeling a bit desprate, so thanks again!! :)

I cannot see why he wouldn't refer you to a colleague if he isn't comfortable doing the op. If he is, win win, have him do it :)

Why have you got to wait? NHS? Can you see him privately?

I can't recall what symptoms and restrictions you have
