Hi everyone, I am new to this forum, hoping someone can help! About 16 years ago I had a ski accident, resulting in a complete tear of my MCL and partial tear and avulsion of my ACL, I had an open repair and a lot of physio on it. Generally my knee has been ok since then, no instability etc, however ever since periodically when walking or even standing, when I put weight through it, I get a paralysing pain to the lateral aspect of my knee, it stops me in my tracks, and leaves me thinking that my knee is locked and I won't be able to wb, however after a minute it recovers and it is ok again. This problem happened occasionally, but recently has started happening more and more often, but it seems to have gone away again in the last few weeks, (I know it will happen again though) I have had an mri which showed a lot of swelling and oedema in the lateral aspect of my knee, but no meniscus damage. I has seen an orthopaedic surgeon and he is going to scope my knee next month, he thinks there may be meniscus damage. Has anyone else had this problem? Many thanks
