Mucoid Degeneration
« on: January 04, 2015, 03:09:50 AM »
Hi all. New here. Looking for info.

Had ACL reconstruction and a double menisectomy December 2013. Work related injury.

Numerous problems. Still can't fully extend, squat, kneel, climb stairs etc. Have had several MRI's post-op.

Findings as of August are: Mucoid degeneration of the ACL. Meniscus tear. Popliteal cyst. Lateral notch sign. I need an OATS allograft. And eventually a TKR.

I'm 26.

I've made an appt with my original OS for Monday for the 1 year check up.. Just wondering what the hell I should tell this guy?

I'm seeing a different OS closer to home and I asked what he knew about mucoid degeneration and I asked if it meant my ACL was rejecting. His response was, "Probably." What the hell?

I know other people have this. I've seen the posts and skimmed the threads. I've researched for months and I haven't found much. Specifically treatment options.

Any info anyone has would be helpful.

And any info on the OATS allograft would be nice as well.

Thanks.
S.
