Post op TKR stiiffness
« on: December 17, 2014, 08:57:40 PM »
Hello, I am 4 weeks post op from a right TKR. When I start my day my leg is fairly loose, however after just a bit of physio it quickly becomes stiff to the point of feeling tightly banded at times. Is this normal at this stage?
My bend is 115 and I am still around minus 8 for straightening.

I can't say as I've not had a TKR but are the physio exercises perhaps making it swell a bit as is often the case following surgery, hence the tightness?  Are you using an ice pack / bag of peas wrapped in a tea towel after doing the exercises?

Have you discussed with your physio or surgeon?
