4 Months post ACL Reconstruction
« on: December 08, 2014, 03:59:57 AM »
Hi,
I had an acl reconstruction on my left knee on July 2014 . My OS used my own BTB graft from the same knee for surgery. Now its 4 months post op. I am still facing issues in walking. Every time I try to walk normally my knee buckles and cracking sound comes below knee portion in Tibia . My Pysio says my knee is still weak and suggested to to do lot of exercises and asked to start jogging. I am doing my exercises regularly ,but still walking normally is a big problem.Little limp helps in avoiding buckling . but bending and walking exerts pain and Buckling which stops me from further moving. Any suggestions? Should I have to consult another surgeon or it will be ok after few months?

Hello,

I'm 6 months post-op and I am still having issues. It's seems my issue revolve around scar tissue. I have a lot of popping and cracking sounds. My leg is still weak. I can now walk down stairs. Not as before, but I'm making progress.  When you said, "your physio suggested to do more exercises " does that mean you are doing it on your own?  Or are you getting assistance from them?
5/26/14 -  ACL and Meniscus tear
6/12/14 -  Patellar Allograft
8/12/14 -  Manipulation Under Anesthesia (MUA)
12/1/15 - Arthroscopy

Problem solved. Meniscus tear, bad adhesion's, scar tissue and frozen patella...

Hi,
I am going to gym and doing exercises on my own. I too have the popping and cracking sound around scar tissue. I too can walk downstairs with support. Only concern is the pain it creates while walking normally.  4 months post op and still limping is not good.
