Have i disconnected my graft?
« on: October 12, 2014, 02:52:32 PM »
Hi, Im 4 weeks post op from an ACL reconstruction using the hamstring graft.

A couple of days ago I was doing some physio exercises, and I went to stand up whilst tensing my thighs, and all of a sudden I felt a sharp pain and a click right where my new ACL is. I could walk and bend my leg pretty much the same as before, but it was hurting for a quite a while after.

Initially I was worried that I may have re-torn the graft, but I was only slightly worried as it would have taken quite a lot to do that. But I read that it is possible that the new graft can be disconnected from the insertion points, and that is the main worry after surgery.

Does anyone know the symptoms of the graft being disconnected from the insertion points? As I really don't know if I have done that or if i'm worrying about nothing.
