Peroneal nerve damage and foot drop
« on: October 04, 2014, 03:34:30 AM »
Hi all, newbie here. Last Saturday, I was working on the brakes of my car and was in a crouched position for an extended period of time. Later that night, I wasn't able to lift/flex up my left foot. After doing a little research, it turns out I damaged my peroneal nerve resulting in foot drop. I feel some swelling in my knee but it has almost been a week now and I'm still unable to flex my foot upwards.

If it doesn't get better in a few days, I'm going to have to make an appointment with my doc to have him check it out. It's so frustrating..feels like my foot is paralyzed!

Has anyone come down with foot drop from extended periods of crouching?? How long will it take for the nerve to repair? Is there a chance it won't repair itself? Thanks
