Chrondomalacia vs Osteroarthritis
« on: October 02, 2014, 02:31:46 AM »
Are these the same thing?  I keep reading about them, and they seem to be used interchangeably in some cases, and different in others.  My doc says I have grade 3/4 chrondo, and arthritis but it seems like the same problem.

I got my first Supartz injection today to see if that will help.

Postop read like this:

Left knee
Anterior horn medial meniscal tear with loose body with anomalous intermeniscal ligament, grade 3 chrondomalacia patellar apex with tricompartmental synovitis, septated suprapatellar pouch.

Right knee
Tricompartmental synovitis with grade 2 chondromalacial of lateral femoral condyle, anterior horn lateral meniscal tear, focal grade 4 chrondomalacia medial femoral condyle approx 1.5x2cm, associated early grade 3 change medial tibial plateau, associated anterior horn medial meniscal tear.

And thanks for the links, I will read up.
