Returning to running
« on: September 20, 2014, 11:09:44 PM »

Just after experiences of other people who've returned to running after aclr. I'm 13.5 weeks post aclr + meniscus repair and have been doing a walk run program on the treadmill only for last three weeks. Up to walk 2.5 minutes/run 2.5 minutes for half an hour.

So far, it's been going alright. No pain during running in knee, but surrounding muscles are tired afterwards as they are still week from the atrophy!

I was a keen runner before injury and would often do a 10 miler on a whim when I felt like it, so this is all rather frustrating. However, I'll stick to the program the physio has set for me as don't want to risk injury.

For other runners out thee, how long did it take you to get back to pre injury levels if running?

It sounds like you are doing pretty well. I'm 1 year after surgery and I can only jog for about 7 minutes without a break. What surgery did you have? What graph?
