Leg Won't Straighten
« on: August 28, 2014, 06:05:35 PM »
On May 26th of 2014 I was involved in an ATV roll-over accident. It did massive trauma to my lower right leg which resulted in some loss of skin and muscle. Over the the last 3 months I first had a wound vac on the lower leg which had an open would and then just recently had a successful skin graft completed. The problem was during the whole time...I had to keep my leg elevated and when I used a walker my right leg dangled at at a 45 degree angle (I couldnt put pressure because of a repaired achilles tendon). Because of a constantly keeping it elevated and not putting pressure on it (both essentially keeping the leg "bent") I am finding it impossible to completely straighten my leg so I can try to walk. Does anybody know why I can't seem to establish full full range of motion in my leg after 3 months of the above and most importantly....how can I rehab to re-stablish the full range of motion. Thanks,
