surgery on monday and no full ROM
« on: August 09, 2014, 05:29:52 AM »
Hi, im going to have my ACLr on my knee on monday.. but i havnt achieve yet full ROM. My knee is in semiflexion all the time. If I lay down im able to get it to 5 of extention. But im not pass 65 of flexion.

I injured myself playing basketball 2 months ago. i had a bad bone bruise in my tibia, i subluxated my patella and ruptured my ACL.

The amount of pain i feel when i try to bend my knee is incredible.

My mri showed no meniscus injury although the doctor believe i have something else going on.

what should i do? whats going to happend after surgery? how not having full ROM will affect me?

my surgeons all came in to talk to me before/after surgery, that would be an excellent opportunity to ask them these questions/concerns you have. if you have something preventing your full ROM and are having surgery to fix it i'd imagine it would be a goal of post-op rehab (they should give you a physiotherapy protocol to follow, if they don't ask for one!)

good luck with surgery and recovery!
