I would appreciate some help
« on: July 29, 2014, 09:55:55 AM »
There is a noticeable bump on my left knee towards the outer part of my leg. If the bottom of my knee is 6 o'clock, the knot is located at approximately 3 o'clock. The symptoms are soreness and stiffness. I can walk fine but after a few hours on my feet or continued trips up and down stairs it becomes quite painful.

I have had varied success in its rehabilitation through stretching, rolling out my muscles and tiger balm treatments. There was even a point where I thought my knee was healed.

I injured my knee in December during a jiu-jitsu session.
I found myself in an unfamiliar submission hold where my knee was twisted. It didn't hurt at the time or even afterwards but the next day it was quite sore.
I figured it would just go away since the only problem was that it was stiff and sore and I could still carry on all of my daily activities. Could still walk and run, climb stairs, exercise, continue martial arts etc.

I was wondering if anyone had a diagnosis and perhaps some possible remedies I could do on my own. Id rather not go to the Dr. but if I must, I must. Just thought Id see if I could get any help on here.

Thanks so much and Many Blessings,

Caleb

You need to get a definitive diagnosis from qualified knee specialist before anyone here can offer any advice based on personal experience.

It could be any one of a number of things to be honest and the sooner you get a proper diagnosis the sooner you can get on with treating it correctly. Currently you are guessing at what it MAY be and could in fact be making what may be originally a minor injury, significantly worse by not getting a proper diagnosis.

Doctors are not allowed to diagnose over the internet and, as this site conforms with the HONCode for medically based sites, all doctors and practitioners have to identify themselves and comply with the guidelines. The rest of us are all patients who share a knowledge and experience base, so at best all you will get from us is anecdotal advice.

Why don't you want to see a doctor?
