medial knee pain when sitting on heels
« on: July 26, 2014, 02:53:41 PM »
i have a a vague pain on the inside of my right knee which seems to have developed gradually without me noticing any particular onset.

i cannot sit on my heels without pain in the knee area although i find it very difficult to say exactly where the pain is coming from.  it is definitely on the medial side, but wether it is above or below the knee i find it difficult to identify.  pain gets worse if i sit on my heals and lean to my right..  leaning to my left doesn't hurt so much.

if i dont do any of the above it doesn't really hurt  but there is also a  definite gritty noise when i stand on right leg and bend my knee!

can anyone help me figure out what the issue might be?

Could be anything really, strain, sprain, tear, inflammation, or nothing specific.  Is there any swelling, instability?  Best get in touch with a doctor and potentially a physio.  In the meantime, rest, ice for any swelling, keep it elevated and avoid doing anything that aggravates it (like sitting on your heels)
