Normal EMG. What now?
« on: July 17, 2014, 02:45:31 AM »
I've had pain in my knee since my ACL injury(which was recon in Jan). My OS is grasping at straws and sent me for an EMG to see if my pain is nerve related. I had it done today and was told it is normal. Other than the lateral knee pain tha occasionally shoots down my leg, I also have pain behind and below my patella when fully extending. I  go through periods when my ROM is not very good and I have more pain, and periods where every thing seems ok.
Also, during my surgery, my doctor said there is a fissure in the articular cartilage that may cause me problems down the road. He didn't say where it was though.

I see my OS tomorrow to figure out the next step nut I was hoping to get some feedback here so I could propose ideas to him.

Has anyone here had a similar experience and can share what happened? Maybe this is just normal after this type of surgery and I need yo learn to live with it?
