Dr. Amir Jamali is who I would recommend in Northern California. Here is his website

http://www.jointpreservationinstitute.com/staff.html

I didn't personally use him because I am in Southern California but when I was doing extensive research to find out who I wanted to use I was considering him until I found my os. If you would be willing to travel my os in Southern California is the best and has patients come from all over to see him. Let me know if you would like his name.

Hi Claire,

I'm interested in your So. Cal. surgeon's name.  What procedure did you have done?  Sounds like your happy with your outcome.

Thanks,
A

My os is in San Diego and he is amazing. His name is Dr. Richard Santore. I have had four surgeries with him and have to have two more. My first procedure was a right hip osteoplasty for hip impingement. My second procedure was derotational osteotomies of the femur and tibia, fibula to correct miserable malalignment. My third was the addition of a plate to my femur because I had a non union. And my fourth procedure was two days ago to remove the hardware from my tibia and one screw from my femur. The rest of my femur hardware will come out in December. Then I have to have a left hip osteoplasty like the first one I had on the right.

I am very happy with my outcome. My leg was so crooked before and it is now in perfect alignment. Dr. Santore has really amazing surgical skills but not only that he also has a great bedside manner and is always so positive, upbeat, and excited about being able to help.

If you don't mind me asking, what do you need to have done or what are you leg issues)

You should definitely check out Dr. Kevin Stone who does trochlear cartilage implants that his office says lasts 10 years. He gets a lot of athletes. You can just google his website and Ted Talks. He also does free phone consults if you mail him MRI and specific X Rays.

What do you think?
