ACL laxity, surgery/physio/braces
« on: June 10, 2014, 05:42:42 PM »

Just been seen by a physio who informs me I have loose cruciate ligaments, and will probably need a ligament reconstruction to continue playing football. I left feeling a little confused as my MRI results showed meniscsl tears, no damage to ACL, is ACL laxity something that can just develop without injury??

I'm struggling to find much info on ACL laxity, other than that related to tears or rehab after surgery which is not the situation I'm in. Just wondered if anyone had any experiences in this as I don't want to rush into an aclr without exploring other options, physio or even injections (although this appears more common in the us). Do people continue playing high intensity sports with ACL laxity?

Many thanks
