What would this be?
« on: June 08, 2014, 11:08:34 PM »
I'll make this short, because no-one likes reading long threads.

I'm about 11 months post-op from my ACL reconstruction. TBH really happy as far as that outcome is concerned. However, Prior to the surgery, when I kicked my leg, I would get a lot of crunching from my knee and when in bed I'd move it and get the same. This disappeared after my ACL surgery. However, it's now back.

This time when I kick, sometime I'll get a loud click/pop and it's quite painful. In conjunction with this, it's very crackly when moved in certain ways. Ortho has sent me for an MRI, which I had last week. Just curious as to whether anyone could take a guess to what the problem could be and likely treatment, as I probably won't get the results for a month or two.

I'd be chasing the doctor, 2 months to MRI results seems a very long time! What country are you in, do t think it would even take that long in the uk!

Yeah I'm in UK. Am quite surprised as previous results came within 14 days.

Hopefully you did not injure the ACL again or tear the meniscus.  Did you have a meniscus tear along with the ACL tear? The popping is usually the meniscus tearing.   Now that you have it again, I'm thinking you may of  damaged the meniscus.  Bottom line, you need to get to the bottom of it and get the results that are long overdue.  Sometimes here in the US if the results are not bad they don't get back to you as quickly as they would with a not so good result.   Don't know if that applies there in the UK.   I wouldn't worry too much but I think you should track down the results.   I hope your feeling better soon.    LAS
