« on: May 28, 2014, 01:51:46 AM »
Please interpreting these results for me.  They are about 1 yrs old.  At the moment I am thinking about cutting into both knees with a kitchen knives to see what the H*ll is hurting so much.

First Knee: "Moderate grade chondral fissuring and cartilage loss in the
medial trochlear cartilage with delamination. Central osteophyte
formation."

Second Knee:"Moderate fissuring and delamination of the central trochlear
cartilage."

You have damage in both knees to the articular cartilage (shiny stuff covering the bones) in the trochlear groove which is where the kneecap sits and slides.  The fact that you have this in both knees and don't mention damage to the other bones suggests that your kneecaps are maltracking.  You also have osteophytes, which are bone spurs in the middle of the groove.

Have a read of these, essentially you have moderate arthritis in that part of the knee

What treatment has your orthopedic specialist suggested? Perhaps, you should have a surgeon operate rather than DIY.  You certainly need to get a specialist's advice, preferably one who has an interest in the patello-femoral joint.  There are surgeries that can realign the bones and also repair the cartilage.  There are also injections that may help and pain medications

If the MRI is a year old and pain has gt worse, you might want to get another done to see what the situation is now.  Once the cartilage starts to deteriorate, the process continues

Good luck :)
