Hyperextension post ACLr
« on: April 24, 2014, 09:12:09 AM »
I am new here and wanted to say how great it has been to read other experiences before I had my ACL surgery last week.

I am now one week post-op, after having my right ACL reconstructed. Everything seems to be progressing well so far, but I'm struggling to get the hyperextension that my OS is looking for over these couple weeks.

I am doing heel props every hour or so, but feel like my leg is fighting against it. The swelling is not too bad at all so I am not sure if it is just down to that. I did struggle to regain hyperextension post injury (skiing in Dec) and had an arthroscopy in Feb to remove the stump from my joint. Prior to surgery I had passive, but not active hyperextension.

Is this a common issue? Anything else which has worked for others struggling with the same problem?
