Left Knee One Year After Slip and Fall
« on: April 23, 2014, 12:07:47 AM »
Hey Everyone,

I had a fall through a floor of a mobile home I was reant about a year ago.  I saw one Orthopedic Surgeon and he took MRI and said I had Patellar Tendonitis and gave me a Cortisonr Injection and said I would be ok. My pain has always been on the outside left of the Knee. New Ortho had me do a second MRI and said its a high frequency MRI. I see what appears to be large black holes in some structures of the Films. They gave me my flims to take to my next appointment. Should I be concerned that I have pain and can clearly see holes on MRI ?

Holes in what?  MRIs are not possible to read accurately without a significant amount of training and expertise.  As a lay person, even if shown what is going on, it can be hard to see!  You also need to look at all of the 100s of images.

I would wait for the report and appointment and not worry yourself trying to second guess.

Good luck :)

Well my mom works in Ortho Nursing and Doc is sensing me to Physical Therapy while Awaiting report from MRI which honestly doesn't make me feel very comfortable and IN have holes in the actual knee bone  itself they almost look like pin pricks. I just don't know about going to Physical Therapy whem we don't have any clear cit answers as to what is happening and why I am in pain and can't walk three blocks when I used to walk three miles a day.

Bones are porous, is this what you are seeing?  Although MRI is a computer generated image, so I don't know.  If the doctor is in favour of PT, I'd go with his recommendation :) what does your mum think?
