Possible Knee Injury
« on: April 20, 2014, 02:34:28 AM »
I played in a hockey game earlier today. I fell twice, once was by my own player and second I was tripped. The first time my knee twisted a little. I felt immediate pain and was having trouble skating. Silly me I stayed in the game when the coach didn't want me to. The second time I fell there was two minutes left in the third period, I was behind the net fighting for the puck and I was tripped. My knee this time went a totally different direction it should have. I was trying to move my knee when I was down and I guess I twisted it wrong. It took me a little while to get up, after that I couldn't skate, it was not possible. I was limping badly and almost fell flat on my face trying to make it to the bench. My coach asked me "ankle? foot?" I yelled back in pain knee! He was very concerned. We have a trainer, she gave me ice but that is really all she could do. I felt like someone put a knife through the outer side of my left knee. I couldn't bend my knee past ninety degrees. I still have pain at the outer side of my knee and at the back. When I bend it I can feel the tendons moving and stretching....weird? I know. It feels very unstable, it wobbles when I walk. I have no confidence in it because I have a feeling it will give out.

I am just wondering if anyone has any idea what this could be, how long the recovery would be and what I can do right now about it.

What I have done:
Iced
Wearing a hinged knee brace
Staying off of it as much as possible.
