HELp - Possible ligament tear
« on: April 19, 2014, 11:50:00 PM »
Hello,

A week ago I was squatting down and heard and felt a pop in my left knee.  Pain immediately went down from behind my knee to my ankle.  It also locked up.  The knee eventually released, however the pain has not gone away.  I have gone to the doctor and he has ordered an MRI and put me in a hinge brace.  Currently the pain is in the back of my knee, front of knee and on the inside of the knee. Swelling occurred behind the knee and on the right side.

Does anyone have any thoughts.  I am a very active woman and sitting still is not working for me. :)

It could be a lot of things... the fact you say it locked up might indicate a meniscus tear of some sorts. While we all want insta answers,  your best bet is going to be to get the mri and follow your doctors instructions.  Knee injuries take a rich measure of patience.  Best of luck.
