Patella repair surgery for patient with metal allergies
« on: April 18, 2014, 05:35:10 AM »

I'm writing for a friend of mine who was assaulted back on Jan 3.

The attack resulted in a broken patella which required surgery,  however due to him being allergic to certain metals the doctor was unable to preform the surgery in the usual manor.   Instead of using the stainless steel wire to hold it all together, he used titanium screws and suture.

Then because surgery was done in this manor, he was put in a full length immobilizer and physical therapy was held back until about 3 weeks ago.

I was wondering if anyone else had this type of surgery due to metal allergies as well.

Would like to compare notes and see if my friend is recovering at the pace etc.

Thanks for your time
