Discoid meniscus
« on: April 05, 2014, 05:05:56 AM »
My 9 year old son had his surgery on March 21st and he is recovering but 6 weeks in a wheelchair with minimal walker use. I was debating putting the surgery off but the risk of another pain episode pushed me to continue. I am glad we did it when the dr came out he informed us that he whole knee anatomy was abnormal and that his discoid meniscus was not attached and just floating in his knee. I was just wondering if anyone has heard of this? I unfortunately have some experience with discoid meniscus my daughter has it as well and has had multiple surgeries however I was never told the rest of her knee anatomy was abnormal.
Has anyone experienced this???
Thank you to everyone for the advise on my previous post.
