Grade 2 MCL Tear help

Morning,   25 year old  Male  5ft 10   80 Kg's

I was told that I have a grade 2 tear of my Left leg MCL today by the knee specialist. He has issued me with a Breg T scope knee brace for 7 weeks then back for a check up. I am approaching 2 weeks since I injured my knee playing football and have a number of questions? (if you can answer any of them that would be great)

How long before I can get back running on my knee?

Shall I keep moving my knee and stretching my leg out straight? This hurts on the side of my knee and feels like something is pulling underneath to the right.

Will icing it continue to reduce the swelling?

Are there any exercises I can do to build muscle up this early on around the knee? I cant put full weight on my knee at the moment
