Lump below knee
« on: January 03, 2014, 08:58:41 PM »
Hi all,

I was just wondering if anybody could help me please. About five weeks ago I noticed quite a large lump under my knee- it's quite painful and restricts my range of movement in my leg. I also notice my knee getting very hot regularly, but I'm not sure whether it is linked in or not. I'm five and a half months post op following a TTO and MPFL reconstruction and although I've experienced problems, I've never come across anything like this before. I've been to see my doctor and she said that she didn't know what it was and that it needed further investigation, but I'm wondering whether anybody else has had anything similar or might be able to shed some light on what it could be. She did however mention that its not fluid/swelling.

Many thanks in advance for any insight.

Burisitis?  (spelling)

inflammation and infections would cause it to feel hot
11/2012 R patellar tendon injury, immediate quad atrophy
12/2012 MRI- tendinosis
1/2013- OS- Patellar tendinitis and Chondromalacia
3/2013 L Patellar tendon pop, no quad atrophy

Sounds like scar tissue.  Has your doctor not mentioned this possibility?
09/10- left knee subluxation..
