Something new or more of the same?
« on: November 09, 2013, 09:31:13 PM »
Hi everyone,
I have osteoarthritis in my knee (grade IV patella-femoral, grade III most of rest of it) and am currently waiting to decide upon cartilage replacement surgery with my OS.
Anyway recently my knee has started to like suddenly catch and be absolute agony for a short time. This is happening more and more regularly and its hard to explain what happens but it feels like something catches in my knee. For a short time its make-you-shout-out-loud agony and then it seems to uncatch and hurts a bit less but more than it did before. I was just wondering if anyone experienced similar and could advise if its just to do with the cartilage damage or if its likely to be something else?

I guess it could be loose articular cartilage getting caught, or possibly torn meniscus?  Do you have buckling and swelling with it? Ask for an MRI perhaps?

Hope you get some answers when you next see your OS.
