I will try to stay as positive as I possibly can - I promise JFVolleyGirl.  You watch out for those wet floors kiddo.  No more injuries - you war just now getting back on those legs of yours!!!

Thanks for your encouragement JFVolley - I am scared - but I will be ok.

You'll be great! It's natural to be scared.

As my doc told me in Oct when I had a rough start, just keep your eye on the prize---which is a pain free knee! I'll keep you in my prayers :)

Lee, by the time you are reading this one of two things is happening... Your doped up on some pretty good pain meds or wishing you were because you can't sleep and are angstly awaiting your surgery! I have been praying for you and will continue to pray for you. The femoral nerve block isn't too bad, except when they find the right spot it really sends a sharp zing! But as quickly as the zing happens it is over with. I guarantee after the surgery you will be happy you had it. One word of wisdom... Make sure that the doc SCHEDULES pain meds so that the nurses bring it when you are sleeping. You DO NOT want to oversleep and wake in excruciating pain the first couple of weeks. Some nurses are good about giving or offering the as needed meds, but others just suck and then won't bring it right away.

I am so happy that the waiting game is soon to be over for you!

God bless!
Susan

Lee,

When you see this hopefully you will be on the other side of surgery, in recovery and doing well in not too much pain. My thoughts are with you. It's time to relax and let the healing begin. Stay positive and be strong.

Sincerely,
Claire

How did it end up going? You had so much support from people. I only hope that I have as much. My Opening Wedge Distal Femoral Osteotomy is in a week. I am scared, nervous, everything all balled up into one body. I can hardly wait to get it over with. Please reply!
