Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore

Has anyone had any experience with this hospital and the surgeons?

I've just recently damaged all my ligaments except my ACL in my left knee.  I have bi-lateral OA in my knees.  I am constantly using an Innovation Sports CTi2 OA unloader custom brace supplied by Technology in Motion in Wimbledon. I have a damaged thumb joint, inpingement syndrome in my right shoulder - probably from having to use crutches for over 2 years constant.  My neck and spine are always playing up - presumably again from my knee problems, or maybe vice versa!  I have HMS and have now been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia at the beginning of December!.

I just want to know whether it would be a good idea to get another opinion.

I have had surgery under Mr J F Dooley and Mr A Strover and both of them have suggested that I loose some weight and then have a HTO.  At 35 years of age, I am somewhat upset to have to go through this kind of surgery, but if it means that I get some kind of relief from the hell I am going through, then hell why not.  But I want to get someone else to tell me the same thing before I do go ahead with surgery.

Thanks for reading this far, if you have got to this point.  Now what do I do?

TIA Lizzie :'(

Has no one had any experience of this specialised hospital.  Surely there is someone in the UK that knows about this place!

I know that a lot of you are out of the UK, but there must be someone here from the UK that knows about this place!
