Can't Fix My Legs. Doctors/PT's Won't Help
« on: October 22, 2013, 05:53:25 AM »
I've been going to doctors and pt's for 8 years. Seen at least a dozen doctors and dozen pt's. It feels like my legs are out of alignment, like the upper and lower legs aren't oriented with respect to each other correctly.

Every time I go to a doc or PT, they tell me that I only have minor issues, glute weakness, lack of stability, but it feels like major issues. I do glute work, stabalization work, etc, and nothing changes. In fact, everything only gets worse, slowly but steadily.

I've consulted with well known names in the mobility game, and they've not been able to help.

How do I find someone who will actually stick with me and help? I've tried the conventional doc/PT route, and it's been a utter failure. I have less than nothing to show for 8 years of work.

I'm about to snap. Doctors don't care to do any digging into my issues. Neither do PT's. They just plop me into a set formula/program, and if that doesn't work, they send me away.

I understand that a CT scan is the way to confirm alignment issues, ask for one if you've not add one.

Also, not sure what country you are in, but seek out a surgeon who specialises in alignment problems.  Is it the 'feeling' that is the concern or do you have pain, instability too?

Good luck :)

LK arthroscopy 8/2/10
2nd scope on 16/12/10
RK arthroscopy on 5/2/15
Lateral meniscus trim, excision of hoffa's fat pad, chondral stabilisation
LK scope 10.1.19 medial menisectomy, trochlea microfracture, general tidy up

What country do you live in?  You could ask patients in the bone realignment section of the forum who are in your country who they see / did their surgeries.  If in the US, there are certainly a number of patients who have these issues.   Look through the surgeon list in the information hub

You could talk to your GP or other orthopaedic surgeons

Every doctor I talk to is a dead end.

Perhaps therefore you've answered your other question about Dr Sanders.  See him, it doesn't sound like you have anything to lose.  Either he can help or not, either you'll like him or not.  You are evidently desperate to find a solution if you've seen 18 doctors

Good luck :)
