I have a German Sheperd named Ricky. He's 2 years old.

I haven't walked him out for a long time now. Bad Knees isn't exactly the right combination for walking a dog. Well, if he wants me to walk him, he licks my ranky knee braces but sadly, I ask my mom to bring him back up. I live in our basement btw. I own the whole thing while recovering. lol.

I only have spiders ;D!!!! Uuuuuuuuuuuuuugh!!! I HATE them >:(, but as I am living on my own... when a BIG spider is sitting on the wall or running (!) over the carpet I have to kill it myself!!! And I am soo scared of them... silly huh??!
Never had an animal. My mom didn't want a cat (Noo it'll ruin my curtains!!!) and no dog (she's deadly afraid of dogs!) or anything. If I have a garden I will buy a dog, a golden retriever or a labrador! These are my favs!

I have a Newfoundland dog named Mr. Magoo who looks like a bear. He's a huge suck, putting himself to bed and carrying teddy bears around everywhere.

He too has had a torn ACL and he has hip problems, but he was definately my support when I was recovering!  :) He had his knee surgery last year and has now fully recovered!

I have a Doberman, Logan, who's really helping me with this.  He'll let me use him as a support to get up if I need help, or to lean on when doing stairs or slippery sidewalks.  He'll also sit with me on the couch and be a canine heating pad for both knees... he's big enough, at 110 pounds.  I don't know what I'd do without this dog!  I'm his third (and last) home, since the two previous ones either couldn't keep him, or couldn't handle him.  He's a smart dog and very loyal and protective, typical for his breed.

I also have goldfish, and a box turtle, Mick, who I'm rehabbing after he was hit by a truck.  If all goes well, he'll be released back into the wild this spring when it warms up.  He's a cute little guy and I'll miss him.

Hee hee, ;D

What is it about big dogs and teddy bears?  My overgrown yellow lab also has a stuffed animal fetish.  Not to mention he likes to wrap himself up in the fleece blanket on our bed.

I've always wanted a lab.... Maybe someday when I finally live in something other than an apartment.  I can't wait.  Till then I have my dwarf hamster, which I call Nemo.  Unfortunately I made a mistake, I should have named him Daredevil because he's not afraid of ANYTHING!  He's a cutie, but he likes to jump off of everything (including the dining room table and people).

I too LOVE animals.  If my husband would approve I would have a house full.  Right now we have a dog (Rusty)  he's an Aussie/Golden mix and dumb as a rock but beautiful.  We have a cat, Juptier, an orange stiped big boy (and yes he does have a big red spot) He is a big sweetie and his purr is what helps me relax on those long painful evenings.
We also have a fish and a hermit crab..they belong to my daughter.
Pets are definitely a bonus -yes hard to walk but somehow they understand.

Hello everyone!!

To Sarah that very sad but beauitful story bless you  ;)

I have 9 year old German Shepherd Duke who's been with me since 12 weeks old his so very handsome and wonderfully loyal he still thinks his 2 and trying to convince him that his 9 is just not happening bless!! ::)

I also have a 5 month old Spaniel black and tan she's full of beans... such a little monster, she loves Duke and loves clamping on to his tail and he ends up pulling her along!!!! ::)

I know that dogs and knees just don't go but I would not have it anyother way!!!! ;D

Hi all

I too am an Animal Lover and would have a housefull if my Husband would let me....

I have two German Shepherds both 9 years old. Holly and Jack. My husband brought Holly for my birthday and we got her from the German Shepherd Welfare Society. She is a complete nutter !!!! But I love her to bits.

We got Jack a few months later cause we felt sorry for Holly being left alone when we were at work.

Now they both get lonely....lol

Oh Kopbird

I forgot to say  :-[  its great to know that you are the proud owner of two German Shepherds!!!! :D :D
Thats GREAT!! It must be hard work???

Duke my 9y old has been slowing down even more so recently his been poorly sick lately poor lad.. as I said before, he thinks his still 2 ::)

I can't believe that your two, Holly and Jack are 9y as well, they are brillant company aren't they!!

How do you cope walking them with your knees??

When my kneecap dislocates they know that something is wrong and Duke has had to go without his walk, only a few times as I have family near by and if my fella is working my mum loves to walk the Dogs!!

But I have been known to go out on my crutches and walk Duke, his brilliant off the lead!
Phoebe (Spaniel) well she's just 6 months so she's still learning the ropes!! ;)

Look after yourself and those hounds that are refusing to grow old gracefully!!! ;D

Emma

ps. Its funny as I was reading your email I knew you were from the UK....... only Brits use the word "nutter"  ;D ;D ;D ;D
