Probs with quad activation post osteotomy
« on: July 10, 2016, 09:11:10 AM »
Hi - I'm hoping someone can help.

I had a high tibial osteotomy 5 weeks ago, it was 12mm open wedge and hardware is in place. I'm fully weightbearing without crutches for short distances but now have very weak quad activation on the operated leg. I can't flex it anywhere nearly as much as the other leg and it's noticeable 'spongy' even when I feel I'm fully flexing it.

Having read around this there seem to be a lot of research papers saying this is a common problem and can be permanent!

Has anyone else here had a similar quad activation problem? If so, how long did it last? And what did you do to improve it?

Any help v gratefully received!

Duncan
