In need of some advice/encouragement
« on: July 12, 2013, 06:31:19 PM »
A little background: 25 year old female, WAS super active, ACL with hamstring graft and medial meniscus repair 17 days ago, had first PT yesterday, healing a little bit ahead of schedule as far as ROM goes.

So what I guess I am in search for is some advice or experiences that people have had.  One of my biggest passions is skiing and my physical therapist told me yesterday that the earliest he could see me getting back was early February, which doesn't leave much of a season.  I was planning on going to Alaska to ski in Feb but I don't want some of my first days back to be up there.  Plus the three people I am going with are really good skiers.

What have your recoveries been like?  Have any of you been able to get back to normal life faster than predicted.  I'm not going to push it and mess my knee up again, but getting this news was a real blow to me.  I had thought I would get back in January.  Even as I write this, I have tears in my eyes.  I just miss being me.
