ACLR w/hamstring... ROM questions
«

To anyone who maybe has some answers for me. I'm 8 weeks post acl reconstruction using hamstring graft and cannot get past 120 flexion. My pt guy doesn't seem concerned but I'm starting to get discouraged. Has anyone else had issues regaining flexion? I am at zero on extension so no issues there. Just getting tired of walking with a limp and not being able to bend my knee!

that sounds pretty good to me for 8 weeks! I know how frustrating it is though. I just went from 120-130 this past week at 13 weeks post op. Hang in there and keep doing home exercises, try to bike if you can? (stationary or on a trainer) and stretch. You will get there! I'm still not satisfied at 130 so working hard to keep going so I can get my R to match my L. Good luck!

Thanks for the quick reply! I actually went and bought an exercise bike last week and use it every morning. I try and lower the seat as far as I can to get a good stretch and then I raise it back up so I can comfortably ride it for twenty or so minutes. I just wish it felt the same as my right leg but I know it's still early!
It sounds like your making great progress so you keep up the good work as well! It's nice to be able to talk to someone who can relate!

You're welcome and thanks! That sounds like a good idea with the bike, good luck! I do feel your feel your frustration with getting the legs equal, would make sleep much easier. Keep us posted on your progress

Made it to 128 in flexion this afternoon at pt! My therapist had to push to get it but its better than where I was. Had to come on here to post my excitement bc my friends/family have no idea what I'm talking about!

that is awesome!! Congrats!!! I've realized if I try not to tense up then my PT can push my knee a little farther each time. I just got to 135 this week. Almost there! Keep it up! I understand about the friends and family not getting the ROM stuff. I had one friend tell me she had no idea what I was talking about, LOL.
