Sudden swelling & increased pain
« on: March 20, 2013, 11:29:40 PM »
Hi, was hoping somebody could advise.

To cut a long story short, I ruptured my ACL and damaged my meniscus plus another ligament (with bone bruising) in November last year. I am awaiting a further MRI so the consultant can see whats going on inside.

Yesterday I returned to work for the first time. I had full bending of the injured knee but still couldn't straighten it.

Over the course of the past two days my knee & around my knee has swollen back up & my pain increased massively. My movement is becoming restricted again :(

I know nobody on here can diagnose, but any ideas why this could be? And also should I go & see my GP because of the change? The swelling isn't to the extent that it was when I injured it, but my leg is clearly much bigger than the other. Lastly, should I just make a routine appointment or ask to be seen quickly.

Amazes me what a mess I made by one slip. It's not how far you fall but how you land clearly!

Thank you for taking the time to read .
